Stewart Michael Bruce Back

Stewart Michael Bruce: Illustrator and Photomontage

While Stewart still embraces traditional artists' mediums, he also incorporates modern tools and finds that the addition of a computer, innovative software such as Adobe Photoshop, and digital photography has made all the difference to him as an artist. Being able to combine traditional art with his own images and his own photographs has set him free from the restrictions of the old media. However, Stewart still embraces the traditional tools; watercolors, acrylics, oils, charcoal, and pencils still find their way into his current artwork. Now he feels that his pieces have a great deal more shape, depth, and form, but with a digital palette of millions of colors. Stewart's purpose is to create new “storyscapes” that flow with movement and colour.
Stewart has been published in national and international digital art magazines, such as Digital Photographer, Computer Arts, Digital Creative Arts and Digit Magazine; SBS Digital Design (USA); Design Graphics (Australia); and EFX Art and Design (Sweden).

Stewart has had exhibitions in London at these fine galleries: Metro Imaging Gallery, Colville Place Gallery , Gallery 47, Deluxe Gallery, Waterloo Gallery, Business Design Centre London, On The Wall, Olympia London.

Stewart’s international exhibitions include: The Facing Faces project, a worldwide, Internet- and gallery-based, anti-violence campaign. (2003-'04). Facing Faces traveled throughout America and Canada (Los Angeles and Hollywood, California; Toluca, Ohio; Richmond, Virginia; Fredericton, New Brunswick); Belgium (Antwerp and Leuven); The Netherlands (Utrecht and Amsterdam); the Philippines (November 2004, St. Thomas, Mindanao); and the Museum of Art and History in Juarez City, Mexico.
